Wont update!!!!!

I have tried to update this app about 20 times now. It says its updating but nothing happens. When I go into the app information area it will automatically start the installing process but again nothing happens. Can you please help me with this issuer. My grand daughters wanted to play with it but are losing interest because they know there is suppose to be an update and they think that they are missing out on "something" when they can see that it should be updated, Ive told them it was an update for some "bug issues" and their reply is "Yeh, we know!"
They are 4 and 9 years old. Do I need to delete and reinstall? I wouldnt want to mess something up by doing that!
